Mental arithmetic number grids
The number grids below are intended to
develop mental arithmetic skills in Years 4 to 6. They aim to promote
logical strategies and deductive reasoning through solving equations in
grid form.
For each grid, a formula is given. The formula must work correctly for each row, column, and the top-left to bottom-right diagonal. Totals and some other numbers are provided. The challenge is to complete the blanks. You'll be pleased to know each question grid is followed by an answer grid!
The function grids are straightforward. There are two or three columns and five rows. Each row must be completed according to the function heading the right-hand column.
